OUR STORY
Vivid Imagination Inc. began in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy in 2013. The goal was to provide students at P.S 43 a platform to create a documentary from the student’s perspective on the effects caused by the massive storm.
The experience and validation the students gained producing their documentary, garnered awards and media recognition. This made it clear that there was something special brewing. It was from this moment our aim of empowerment through digital technologies was conceived. Since then, we have made it our first priority that all of our advanced youth education programs impart skills and opportunities that students can actually take with them to jobs, career, and college opportunities.
We get creative with the aspects of learning people learn visually, audibly, through repetition or practice; that’s where virtual/augmented reality, video production, 3D models, art, music, and so many platforms of technology comes into play. We’re geared toward a continuation of learning, and exploring how the world changes, giving students the ability to learn and gain from it.

Branden Baskin
Executive Director/ CEO
Builder. Creator. World Explorer.
Branden Baskin is the heart behind Vivid Imagination a builder, creator, and big dream believer dedicated to helping young people discover what’s possible. As CEO, he brings his passion for STEM, drones, and immersive technology into classrooms with a spirit of joy, curiosity, and community. As a lifelong martial artist, Branden believes in discipline, exploration, and staying grounded in purpose. Above all, he is a loving father who leads with compassion and keeps family at the center of everything he builds. His mission is simple: ignite imagination, open doors, and create opportunities for every learner.
Elaine Porcher
VP of Development
Youth Advocate. Watercolor Warrior.
For more than 20 years, Elaine Porcher has designed youth development programs, crafted conflict management curriculum, and facilitated leadership development workshops for parents, educators, and students. As VP of Development (and a true NYC native), she supports schools in redefining tech education. Through her work with Vivid Imagination, Elaine is on a mission to ensure marginalized students gain the tech forward skills they need to compete and win in a world that refuses to stand still. She resides in Edgewater NJ with her partner Jay and their favorite plant, Henry.
Kelly Butcher
Director of Operations
Systems Strategist. Warm Hearted Wanderer.
Kelly Butcher holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in education. She began her career as a computer programmer before answering a calling to nurture young minds, eventually becoming a teacher for future scientists. In her current role at Vivid Imagination Inc., she strengthens processes, systems, and daily operations so the organization can focus on inspiring and teaching students through innovative technology driven
learning experiences. Kelly and her husband split their time between Austin, Texas, and the Boston area, where they enjoy traveling, exploring rail trails across the Northeast, and spending time with family pursuits that continue to fuel her passion for meaningful learning.
Nicolette Calandra
Program Manager
Educator. Weekend Getaway Guru.
Nicolette Calandra is thrilled to be part of the Vivid Imagination team, bringing her passion for teaching and learning to every project she supports. She holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, grounding her work in both experience and research based practice. Nicolette spent eight wonderful years in the classroom before transitioning into her current role, where she continues to champion strong instruction and joyful learning. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and their two energetic little boys, exploring new destinations, and traveling whenever adventure calls.

Through AR, VR, esports, robotics, drones, and digital innovation, we partner with schools and communities to cultivate confidence, curiosity, and real world career pathways.
